About My Weekend Courses
Courses are held in the studio at my home overlooking the downs and the town of Bromyard. I often base my work on these tranquil rural surroundings. The groups are small and welcoming. My background in teaching ensures a stimulating atmosphere. Give yourself time to explore a skill, which will give you the impetus to relax.
Here is some information about specific courses.
Introduction to Tapestry Weaving
This course caters for complete beginners giving the opportunity to learn all the skills involved. We will produce a sampler concentrating on shapes and patterns or on stitches, leaving plenty of time to experiment.
Walk and Weave
Tapestry weavers with some basic knowledge can explore and practice their skills in producing creative pieces.
Our first morning will be spent in a stimulating pursuit which will depend on the weather! We will most probably have a short walk on the downs or in a local wood, where we can gather materials, take photographs or do some simple drawing. After lunch you will design a piece and later being your weaving. As you will probably want to finish work at home, it is useful to bring a tapestry frame with you.
